Milwaukee Bucks sign John Butler Jr. for upcoming NBA training camp

The Milwaukee Bucks signed 7-foot center John Butler Jr. on September 4 to join the team for training camp. The preseason roster addition follows Butler's tenure with the Wisconsin Herd, the team's G League affiliate, where he played 49 games last season. During that stint, he averaged 9.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks over approximately 29 minutes per game. Butler previously played for Florida State during the 2021-22 season before entering the NBA draft and later spending time with the New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers. The 23-year-old also participated with the Bucks during this year's summer league. Training camp for the Milwaukee organization is scheduled to begin during the last week of September.
