Minnesota Vikings place Ben Yurosek on injured reserve for Harrison Smith

The Minnesota Vikings placed tight end Ben Yurosek on injured reserve to create space on the 53-man roster for the return of safety Harrison Smith. The transaction was finalized on September 8, 2026. While Yurosek moves to the reserve list, reports indicate his injury is not considered long-term, and he remains eligible to return to the active roster later this season. Yurosek, an undrafted rookie in 2025, appeared in 12 games for the team last season. The Vikings also released safety Kahlef Hailassie from the practice squad as part of their recent roster adjustments. The team currently retains T.J. Hockenson and Josh Oliver at the tight end position.
