Minnesota volleyball opens home schedule in the annual Diet Coke Classic

The 13th-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers volleyball team begins their home schedule this weekend at the Pav as hosts of the annual Diet Coke Classic. Minnesota enters the three-day event with a 2-2 record after splitting matches against Florida and Auburn during the Big Ten/SEC Challenge last week. Outside hitter McKenna Wucherer leads the team into play after earning Big Ten Player of the Week honors for her back-to-back 21-kill performances. The tournament schedule features a Friday night matchup between Minnesota and Miami, followed by a Sunday afternoon meeting against St. Thomas. Miami, currently 0-5 on the season, will also face St. Thomas on Saturday. The Diet Coke Classic has been an annual event since 1996, and Minnesota holds a 61-9 all-time record in the tournament.
