Mirabel Onyegwu and Alena Lopez earn NTJCAC weekly volleyball honors

College SportsWeatherford College volleyball players Mirabel Onyegwu and Alena Lopez received Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference weekly honors for their play last week. Onyegwu was named the NTJCAC Offensive Player of the Week after recording 65 kills and 63 digs across 19 sets. Libero Alena Lopez earned the Defensive Player of the Week award, finishing with 68 digs and 21 assists in the same span. The Coyotes currently maintain a 12-match winning streak and hold a 13-1 overall record. This recognition marks the third consecutive week a Weatherford College athlete has received a conference weekly award. The team next plays at home against Hill College on Saturday, Sept. 12.
