Missouri faces Kansas in Lawrence for first time in twenty-one years

Missouri visits Kansas at David Booth Family Memorial Stadium on Friday for an upcoming football game. The Tigers have not recorded a victory in Lawrence since 2001, when Gary Pinkel was head coach. Following the team's departure from the Big 12 after the 2011 season, the rivals did not meet for 14 years before playing in Columbia last season. Missouri currently holds a 20-28-4 all-time record in road games against Kansas at this venue. Eli Drinkwitz will serve as the first Missouri head coach to lead the team in Lawrence since Pinkel, as the program did not play there during the tenure of Barry Odom. The rivalry is scheduled for a brief hiatus following this season before games in 2031 and 2032.
