Missouri State defensive tackle Gilles Tchio returns for season opener

Missouri State defensive tackle Gilles Tchio returns to the field for the upcoming season after missing his 2025 campaign due to a grade three ankle injury. The injury occurred on the opening play of the team's contest against USC last year. Tchio, who had not missed a game during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, spent his rehabilitation period working with the team's strength and conditioning staff. Defensive tackles coach Al Davis noted that Tchio has undergone significant physical changes, dropping from his previous roster weight of 310 pounds to approximately 280 pounds. This transformation is intended to improve his speed when facing offensive lines. Tchio and Missouri State are scheduled to face Texas A&M on the road this Saturday, September 5.
