Missouri Valley Football Conference teams face FBS opponents in 2026 season

College SportsBeginning in September, all nine remaining Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) teams will play at least one Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponent during the non-conference schedule. Notable matchups include South Dakota State visiting Northwestern on September 5 and Murray State facing Middle Tennessee and Oklahoma State in consecutive weeks. The MVFC has a history of success against FBS programs, recording 49 wins since 1985 and achieving at least one victory over FBS teams in 13 of the past 16 seasons. The upcoming slate represents a unique opportunity for MVFC teams to prove their competitiveness against higher-tier opponents.
