Mitchell-area teams win titles at Denny Redmond Memorial tournament

At the Denny Redmond Memorial Softball fastpitch tournament in Sioux Falls, held from June 19-21, the Mitchell-area teams achieved significant success. The 18-and-under Venom captured the Open Division title following a 4-3 victory over Columbus (Neb.) Havoc, finishing the weekend with a 4-0-1 record. The 10-and-under Venom Sting went undefeated at 6-0, including a title match win over the South Dakota Braves 9U. Additionally, the Mitchell Storm claimed the 10U Rec bracket title with a 9-1 win against the Volga Storm, while the 14-and-under Mitchell Renegades were victorious in the Silver bracket, winning 12-8 against the Southwest Storm. The performances highlight the strong local presence in fastpitch softball.
