MJF critiques Ilja Dragunov’s AEW debut at WrestleDream

"

MJF is arguably the biggest star in AEW. When MJF is absent from the screen, there is a noticeable hole. Thankfully, the three-time AEW world champion took to social media to chime in about his thoughts on Ilja Dragunov’s debut, Will Ospreay winning the Clockwork Carnage main event, and more from WrestleDream. MJF summed up the show as: Wrestledream synopsis. Fake world champion defends fake world championship in match with opponents who are way better than him and cheats to win. Russian/german loser debuts by pretending he’s a “composer”…cool. Nick Wayne beat Jericho twice (firecracker emoji) Wrestledream synopsis. I share that sentiment. It would certainly be interesting to see how MJF navigates through Dragunov’s brand of violence in the ring. It’s also amusing how MJF continues his refusal to acknowledge Ospreay as the rightful world champion in AEW. That beef stems back to Ospreay getting involved to protect Kenny Omega in his world title victory over MJF. There’s no hint yet about when MJF will return to AEW. He also has his eye on Ryohei Oiwa in NJPW for a headlock battle. Oiwa isn’t backing down. He will squeeze MJF’s brains out and rip his head off with the Big Lock. MJF seems unfazed by that bravado. In the wake of the hardest of fought defeats in Ryogoku, Ryohei Oiwa promised to get IWGP gold someday soon- and to rip MJF's head off someday sooner! pic.twitter.com/ZChyaWBtlF — NJPW Global (@njpwglobal) October 14, 2026 Look at this absolute dork. My god. — Maxwell Jacob Friedman™️ (@The_MJF) October 14, 2026 What’s your take on MJF’s takes? How do you see a match between MJF and Dragunov unfolding in the ring?
