The 2026 MLB Home Run Derby will revert to a swing-based format for the first time since 2014, as reported by The Athletic. Scheduled for July 13 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, the competition will feature eight hitters in the first round, with no time limit imposed on swings. Each participant will have 20 swings in the first round and 15 in subsequent rounds. A provision allows players to continue swinging until they fail to hit a home run after their last successful swing. Netflix will broadcast the event, moving from its traditional ESPN hosting.
