MLB releases 2027 Houston Astros spring training schedule despite looming labor negotiations

Major League Baseball has released the 2027 spring training schedule, with the Houston Astros set to open Grapefruit League play on February 19 against the Nationals. The team is scheduled to host 15 games at CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches, including matchups against the Mets, Cardinals, Marlins, Tigers, and Yankees. Additionally, the organization has two exhibition games against Triple-A Sugar Land slated for March 22 and 23 at Daikin Park. However, the schedule remains subject to change as the collective bargaining agreement between the league and the MLB Players Association expires on December 1. An anticipated labor dispute could lead to a lockout similar to the one in 2022, which delayed the start of the regular season and adjusted the spring training calendar. The regular-season opener against the Rangers is currently scheduled for March 25.
