MLB sets 2026 playoff schedule with postseason start dates

Major League Baseball announced the 2026 postseason schedule, confirming that the playoffs will commence on Tuesday, Sept. 29, with four Wild Card Series. Each best-of-three series will conclude by Thursday, Oct. 1. The Division Series will start on Saturday, Oct. 3, followed by the League Championship Series beginning no earlier than Sunday, Oct. 11. The 2026 World Series is set to begin on Friday, Oct. 23, with a potential Game 7 occurring on Saturday, Oct. 31. The regular season is scheduled to end on Sunday, Sept. 27.
