Monaco winger Stanis Idumbo has been called up to represent the DR Congo national team ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign. The former Belgian youth international, who previously played for Belgium at the U17, U18, U19, and U21 levels, is set to switch his international allegiance. This move follows a similar trend of youth players opting for other nations over Belgium in recent seasons. Idumbo joined Monaco last summer after playing for the Ajax system and Sevilla. He has appeared in three Ligue 1 matches so far this season, including a goal-scoring performance in a win against PSG in early September. The winger recorded one goal and one assist in 12 appearances for Monaco during the previous campaign.
