Monett senior Peyton Brandt records 1,000th career high school volleyball kill

Monett high school volleyball senior Peyton Brandt reached a milestone on Monday, August 31, by recording her 1,000th career kill during a match against Crane. Brandt is the first player in the school’s history to achieve the mark, a goal she began targeting at the end of her sophomore year. A versatile hitter currently drawing Division II college interest, Brandt has expanded her offensive range beyond middle-attacking to include line shots and tipping. The Cubs have opened their current season with a 3-4-2 record, including victories over Sarcoxie, New Heights Christian Academy, and Ava. Brandt is now focused on guiding Monett to its first district championship since 1996, aiming to overcome recent postseason losses to rival Mount Vernon. She continues to work on team mindset and consistency as the season progresses.
