Monroe County Region football teams set for week two games

High school football teams across the Monroe County region conclude their opening week of play as league schedules begin to formalize. Programs such as Jefferson, SMCC, and Milan enter the next slate of competition with undefeated records, while others like Flat Rock and Airport look to secure their first victories of the season. Regional conferences including the Huron League, Southeastern Conference Red, and Downriver League have finalized their standings following the initial round of games in late August. Coaches and athletic departments are now shifting focus toward the upcoming schedule, which features multiple matchups on September 3 and September 4. These contests serve as early tests for teams aiming to establish dominance within their respective conference standings as the season progresses through the month.
