Monroe County Region teams prepare for full slate of varsity sports

Monroe County Region schools have scheduled a wide variety of varsity sports competitions for the week of September 7-13. The schedule includes a heavy mix of football, volleyball, soccer, cross country, golf, and swimming events across the region. Tuesday features multiple tennis matches, including Saline at Monroe and SMCC at Hillsdale. Wednesday’s program shifts focus toward league jamborees, such as the LCAA cross country meet at Rustic Glen. Athletic programs are also slated to participate in several weekend tournaments, including the Power Series in Pontiac for volleyball and the Tiffin Carnival for cross country teams. The week concludes with a diverse set of matchups, ranging from football games on Friday to various invitationals and quad meets on Saturday morning.
