Monroe County teams prepare for regional baseball tournaments this week

Four baseball teams from the Monroe County Region, including Monroe, St. Mary Catholic Central, New Boston Huron, and Summerfield, are set to compete in regional tournaments starting Wednesday, June 3. Monroe will face Livonia Franklin at 4:30 p.m., while Huron takes on Tecumseh at the same time. Monroe attempts to build on its recent district championship streak under coach Greg Depew, whose team has been competitive despite a subpar overall record. Huron, ranked second in the state, boasts a strong batting lineup as it aims for a spot in the regional finals scheduled for Saturday, June 6.
