Gianni Infantino has been asked by Concacaf president Victor Montagliani to refrain from attending the CFU Under-14 Series in the Dominican Republic this weekend. Montagliani cited the ongoing governance issues surrounding FIFA as a reason for his request, stating Infantino's presence could detract from the competition's technical focus. Infantino was initially invited to the event before controversy erupted over his proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise plan, which has drawn heavy criticism. Despite the situation, Infantino received a warm welcome upon his arrival in the Dominican Republic, and some Concacaf nations continue to support his bid for a fourth term as FIFA president.
