Montre Jackson pledges to Texas over Ole Miss, SMU, Texas Tech

Summary

Montre Jackson, a four-star cornerback from Garland Lakeview Centennial, committed to the Texas Longhorns on June 27, 2026. His decision follows a strong recruiting push from Texas, which has aimed to enhance its top-ten recruiting class this summer. Jackson, who held nearly 40 offers, viewed Texas as a home-like environment and appreciated the program's consistency and coaching staff, including defensive coordinator Will Muschamp. This commitment marks the 20th for Texas in the 2027 class, moving them closer to the fourth spot in national rankings, currently held by Oklahoma. More commitment announcements are expected in July as the Longhorns continue their recruitment efforts.
