More than 300 participate in inaugural Run the Runway 5K at airport

Track & FieldMore than 300 individuals participated in the inaugural Run the Runway 5K on the runway of the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport on Saturday. The event featured a 5K race and a two-mile walk, co-hosted by the airport authority and the Pennsylvania Air National Guard's 258th Combat Airfield Operations squadron. First across the finish line was Josh Daly, who noted the unique experience of running at an airport. Proceeds from the race will benefit Aerium, the airport's nonprofit supporting aviation education. Airport Manager Cory Cree expressed satisfaction with the turnout, which exceeded expectations by over 200 participants.
