Summary

The Moses Lake Christian Academy Lions volleyball team begins the 2026 season with a smaller roster following the end of an athletic partnership with Covenant Christian School. Head coach Dean Spurbeck enters the season with a squad composed primarily of sophomores and juniors, anchored by senior returners Abby Stanley and Taylor Starne. The team finished the 2025 campaign with a 10-8 record before exiting the district tournament in the second round. To adapt to the current personnel, training sessions have focused on improved ball control and a shift toward involving three hitters in the offensive scheme. The Lions aim to improve tactical awareness and maturity as they transition into the new schedule. The season opens with a home match against Wilson Creek on September 8 at 6:15 p.m.
