Parts of the 1.5-mile oval at Motegi have been repurposed as spectator areas, as circuit owner Honda embarks on a phased redevelopment plan. The work began in May, involving the dismantling of sections of the iconic speedway that previously hosted IndyCar and NASCAR events in Japan. The remaining portions of the oval will stay intact for the time being as this redevelopment project progresses.
