Mother and daughter finish Belfast Half Marathon together

Martina Rydout and her daughter Anita completed the Belfast Half Marathon on September 20, 2026, marking a significant achievement for the duo. Anita, who has autism and additional needs, began her running journey with parkruns ten years ago. The race started and finished in Ormeau Park, with thousands of participants taking part in the 13.1-mile course. The Rydouts were part of a group that raised over £4,500 for charities supporting young people with additional needs. Stephen McAuley won the men's race for a second consecutive year, finishing in 1:05:18, while Judith Storm won the women's race in 1:14:14.
