Mountain West names Dominic Kelley and Dylan Lee players of the week

The Mountain West Conference announced its first weekly award winners for the 2026 season following opening weekend performances. Nevada running back Dominic Kelley earned Offensive Player of the Week honors after rushing for 152 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries in a win over Western Kentucky. San José State linebacker Dylan Lee secured Defensive Player of the Week recognition for his performance in a 27-21 victory against Eastern Michigan. Lee recorded a career-high nine tackles and secured a game-ending interception in the final two minutes. Other notable performances included San José State quarterback Luke Weaver, who threw for 316 yards and three scores, and UNLV’s Jai’Den Thomas, who rushed for 143 yards. The conference's opening slate also featured a shutout by Air Force against Duquesne and a 38-7 win for New Mexico over Central Michigan.
