Moussa Diabate recalls draft advice from former coach Tom Thibodeau

Charlotte Hornets center Moussa Diabate recently discussed pre-draft guidance provided by former New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau during a workout in 2022. Thibodeau advised Diabate that remaining at Michigan for an additional collegiate season would have likely elevated him to a first-round NBA draft selection. Despite the advice, Diabate declared for the draft and was selected 43rd overall. The center acknowledged that the feedback helped him prepare for the professional challenges of the NBA. Having navigated early career struggles, Diabate has become a regular fixture in the Hornets rotation.
