Moxley and White advance in Continental Cup after AEW Dynamite matches

The first round of the Continental Cup continued on tonight’s (Aug. 12) episode of AEW Dynamite. First up was Jay White fighting David Finlay in a grudge match. It appeared like the ref was close to calling the match off after White suffered a stinger (that’s the term used by AEW commentators) or some kind of neck injury. Finlay continued targeting Jay’s neck from there, but Switchblade continued to fight until he ultimately pulled off the win with his finisher out of nowhere. .@JayWhiteNZ picks his moment for the perfect rebuttal to move on in the Continental Challenge Cup! Moxley battered Perry, busted him open, and reveled in his blood. With Perry seemingly knocked out, the referee pulled Mox off of his prey. For some reason that kind of ass kicking didn’t result in the match being called off. Perry soon showed some signs of life and made a hell of a comeback, starting with a defiant middle finger right in Moxley’s face. Jungle even managed to lock the champ in the Snare Trap at one point.
