Gavin King, a right-handed pitcher from Middle Tennessee State, has committed to the Texas Longhorns. The announcement comes shortly after Texas added four position players from the NCAA transfer portal. King, standing 6'7" and weighing 210 pounds, has three seasons of eligibility remaining. He previously played at Volunteer State and MTSU, where he had a 6.00 ERA with 59 strikeouts in 42 innings over 19 appearances. Improving his command will be a focus for Texas pitching coach Max Weiner ahead of the 2027 season.
