Multi-car crash blocks pit road during NASCAR race at Gateway

A multi-car accident occurred on pit road during the Nu Way 225 NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway on September 12. The incident took place on Lap 49 while drivers were under a stage break caution. Rajah Caruth spun near the entry of pit lane, triggering a collision that involved Nick Sanchez, Harrison Burton, Anthony Alfredo, Jeremy Clements, and Brandon Jones. The resulting debris blocked the pit road, forcing a red flag as track crews cleared the area. Contact was made with the stall belonging to Brent Crews and two of his crew members, though reports indicate those individuals were unharmed. Sanchez, Clements, and Burton were forced to retire from the race after the incident caused significant damage to their vehicles. The red flag was eventually lifted, allowing the remainder of the field to complete their pit stops.
