Multiple NFL teams seek partnership with WWE wrestler Danhausen

He’s not as hot on the wrestle web as he was a few months back, but Danhausen remains an extremely popular star for WWE. He’s also one that others want to work with. After the frankly insane success of the ESPN-assisted Danhausen/New York Knicks alliance from the NBA Playoffs — which became a trending topic for weeks, moved a ton of merchandise for all involved, and took over an entire WWE special from Madison Square Garden — a lot of the businesses that want to work with Danhausen are apparently professional sports teams. That from WrestleVotes today (Sept, 10), via their usual Thursday hit on Fightful Select. Votes has heard that “no fewer than three NFL teams” have contacted WWE about potentially booking Danhausen for appearances at their home stadiums, and other possible partnerships with the man who lucratively CURSED and UNCURSED the Knicks this summer. Per a Votes source at WWE, the response to Danhausen’s work with the NBA champs is “unlike anything the company has experienced with a talent generating crossover interest from professional sports organizations.” Fightful adds, “There’s an expectation internally within WWE that Fanatics will likely run a Danhausen-NFL crossover line later this season.” Will the [name of your favorite NFL team here]/Danhausen tie-in be Very Nice or Very Evil?
