Munetaka Murakami has chance to make MLB history with White Sox

Chicago White Sox first baseman/designated hitter Munetaka Murakami is nearing a rare achievement as the MLB regular season approaches its conclusion. With his batting average at.202 and an OPS of.804, Murakami could become just the third player to qualify for the batting title with an average under.200 while holding an OPS of at least.800. This feat has only been accomplished by Joey Gallo in 2021 and Kyle Schwarber in 2023. However, Murakami has struggled recently, hitting only two home runs since August 19. The regular season ends in less than two weeks, leaving him limited opportunities to secure this milestone.
