MVP discusses implications of New Day's WWE departure for wrestling

MVP, a star in AEW, commented on the recent exit of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, known as New Day, from WWE during his "Marking Out" podcast on August 12, 2026. Both wrestlers left after reportedly refusing a proposed pay cut from TKO, the parent company of WWE. MVP described their departure as unprecedented, highlighting that WWE's contract structures have historically favored the company. He noted that the brass in WWE wanted the New Day to leave and acknowledged their lasting appeal as merchandise draws despite being considered older talents. Kofi and Creed have been announced for the Jericho Cruise in November and may appear at AEW All In: London later this month.
