Myles Bailey drafted by Chicago Cubs in 2026 MLB Draft

Myles Bailey, a first baseman from Florida State University, was selected by the Chicago Cubs with the 75th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft on July 11. A Tallahassee native, Bailey had an impressive season despite an ankle injury limiting him to 26 games, where he recorded a.363 batting average and led FSU in several offensive categories. He became the first position player from FSU to be drafted, following his standout freshman year. Bailey's performance this season included 13 home runs and a.913 slugging percentage. He was also recognized with multiple accolades, including a mid-season First Team All-American selection by Perfect Game and D1Baseball. Bailey previously went undrafted until the 20th round by the White Sox in 2024, largely due to his commitment to FSU.
