Myles Garrett earns top NFL player ranking before Rams debut

Myles Garrett holds the top spot on the annual ESPN ranking of the best NFL players entering the 2026 season. The recognition follows his record-setting 23-sack season with the Cleveland Browns and his selection as the Defensive Player of the Year. The Los Angeles Rams acquired Garrett in June through a trade involving Jared Verse and two future draft picks. He becomes the first defender to hold the top ranking since Aaron Donald in 2019. The Rams enter the season with Garrett, Puka Nacua, and Matthew Stafford all appearing within the top 10 of the league rankings. Additionally, Donald has returned from retirement to join the defensive line, further strengthening the team roster for the upcoming season.
