Narbonne football coach Patrick Goodpaster secures first victory against Fairfax

Narbonne head coach Patrick Goodpaster earned his first win leading the Gauchos on Thursday night with a 28-18 victory over Fairfax. The result marks a turning point for a program currently operating under three-year postseason sanctions imposed in 2024. Goodpaster, a lieutenant in the Gardena Police Department, inherited a program that suffered significant personnel turnover and initially struggled with a limited roster. After opening the season with losses against Cleveland and North Torrance, the team now features a varsity roster of roughly 24 players. Narbonne leadership plans to appeal the City Section sanctions this month in an effort to restore postseason eligibility for the program. Goodpaster aims to expand the team to 45 players by next season as the program attempts to rebuild its culture.
