NASCAR drivers seek cameo roles in upcoming Days of Thunder sequel

NASCAR drivers are expressing interest in securing roles for the upcoming sequel to the 1990 film Days of Thunder. Joey Logano and Chase Briscoe have publicly stated their desire to appear in the movie, which is scheduled for release in 2028 and stars Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway. Filming is expected to begin early next year. Tom Cruise recently visited the Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway to consult with drivers and team owners about the sport’s evolution. Hendrick Motorsports played a significant role in the production of the original film, and team officials are hoping for continued collaboration on the new project. "Joey Logano has won 71 NASCAR races and three Cup Series championships during his illustrious career. “Yeah, are you kidding me — that's like wicked cool dad points to be in ‘Days of Thunder,’” Logano said Wednesday at the NASCAR playoff media day. Logano isn't the only driver pushing for a role in the follow-up to the 1990 movie starring Cruise as fictional NASCAR driver Cole Trickle.
