NASCAR moves Chicago race to Joliet in 2027, not returning to downtown

NASCAR will not return to downtown Chicago next year and is set to race at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet from June 25 to 27, 2027. Originally, there were plans to return to Chicago in 2026 after the inaugural street race in 2023, but those plans have changed. The schedule for the event includes the ARCA Menards Series on June 25, the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series on June 26, and the NASCAR Cup Series on June 27. The general manager of Chicagoland Speedway, Jacque Herrera, expressed excitement about the fan turnout during the first event. Further updates on the race and related events are anticipated.
