After the Dollar Tree 301 at New Hampshire on August 23, significant changes occurred in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings. Thirteen drivers have secured their spots for the upcoming 10-race Chase. Denny Hamlin clinched the regular-season championship despite finishing seventh, while Ryan Blaney, with a victory, narrowed the points gap and ranks second. Chase Elliott fell to eighth place after a 25th place finish, and Christopher Bell improved to fifth after finishing fourth. The final race of the regular season will take place at Daytona on August 29, where three additional Chase spots remain available.
