Nashville Predators trade Luke Evangelista to the New Jersey Devils

The Nashville Predators traded 24-year-old forward Luke Evangelista to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night. In exchange for the winger, Nashville acquired a conditional first-round draft pick originally held by the Colorado Avalanche and a 2028 second-round draft pick from New Jersey. Evangelista recorded a career-high 56 points over 81 games during his most recent season with the Predators. The move comes as Evangelista enters the final year of a two-year contract signed last October. Predators General Manager Chris MacFarland indicated the transaction was a difficult business decision while wishing the forward well with his new organization. Nashville aims to create roster flexibility within its forward group through this acquisition of future draft assets.
