Nationals and Pirates start July 4 MLB slate at Nationals Park

The Washington Nationals and Pittsburgh Pirates are set to meet at Nationals Park for the first game of MLB's July 4 schedule, with first pitch at 11:05 AM. Washington enters the game looking to extend a three-game winning streak after a recent 9-5 victory over Pittsburgh. The Nationals have struggled historically on this date, winning only four of their last ten July 4 matchups. Special festivities are planned for fans, including free mini flags and unique food options, while pitcher Zack Littell aims to improve his record during his second consecutive Independence Day start.
