NaVorro Bowman Jr. commits to play basketball at UConn

Five-star guard NaVorro Bowman Jr. committed to the UConn men's basketball program on Thursday. The 2027 prospect, who plays for Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, is ranked as the 11th overall player in his recruiting cycle by 247Sports. Bowman is the son of the former NFL All-Pro linebacker NaVorro Bowman. He chose UConn after visiting the campus last week, despite receiving interest from Arizona and Texas throughout the recruiting process. This commitment represents the first for the program's 2027 class under head coach Dan Hurley. 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein described the guard as a physical and athletic playmaker with three-range scoring ability. While scouting notes identify him as a volume scorer who continues to refine his decision-making, his recruitment marks the fourth five-star pledge secured by the staff since 2023.
