NCAA eligibility ruling stalls Nay'Ron Jenkins return to Florida A&M football

Florida A&M linebacker Nay'Ron Jenkins remains ineligible to play following an NCAA legal development regarding the "5-for-5" eligibility rule. The United States 10th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a stay on a Colorado injunction that previously permitted 2022 high school graduates to compete for a fifth season. Head coach Quinn Fordham Gray Sr. confirmed Jenkins has returned to his duties as a graduate defensive assistant while the university navigates the regulatory hurdle. Jenkins had begun practicing with the team during preseason camp but will not return to the field without further legal intervention, which he is currently not pursuing. Florida A&M enters its next game on September 6 with a 1-0 record after opening the season with a 20-7 victory over Albany State.
