Nebraska wrestling adds Meyer Shapiro from transfer portal

Nebraska wrestling has announced the addition of Meyer Shapiro, a three-time All-American and two-time age-level World Champion, transferring from Cornell. Shapiro intends to take the upcoming season off to recover from past health issues, despite having two years of eligibility remaining. His arrival enhances an already impressive transfer class that includes NCAA Champion Vincent Robinson, two-time All-American Anthony Echemendia, and Lucas Cochran. Shapiro’s decision to sit out allows him to train and serve as a practice partner for the current starter at his weight class, Antrell Taylor, as he prepares for a potential national title run in 2027.
