The New Britain Bees defeated the Norwich Sea Unicorns, 3-2, in the first game of the Futures League playoffs on Monday at New Britain Stadium. After a rain delay, the Bees scored first in the bottom of the first inning. Norwich tied the game in the fifth but fell behind after New Britain scored two runs in the eighth. Norwich attempted to rally in the ninth but could only add one more run. Game two of the best-of-3 series is set for Tuesday night at Dodd Stadium.
