New England Patriots claim tight end Cameron Latu off waivers

The New England Patriots claimed Cameron Latu off waivers on Sunday following his release from the Philadelphia Eagles. The move occurred as the Eagles trimmed their roster to the mandatory 53-man limit. Latu spent the 2025 season in Philadelphia, appearing in 15 regular-season games primarily as a special teams contributor and blocker. Despite his role on special teams, where he recorded 11 tackles across 256 snaps, he did not record a reception on offense. The Eagles opted to keep Dallas Goedert, Johnny Mundt, E.J. Jenkins, and rookie Eli Stowers on their active roster while placing Grant Calcaterra on injured reserve.
