New England Patriots claim WR Kobe Prentice off waivers from Panthers

The New England Patriots have claimed wide receiver Kobe Prentice off waivers from the Carolina Panthers. The move was announced on July 25, following the Panthers' decision to release Prentice, a rookie undrafted player who signed with the team in May 2026. Prentice previously played at the University of Alabama and most recently transferred to Baylor University, where he had a successful season with 26 receptions for 380 yards and six touchdowns. The Patriots are looking to bolster their receiving corps after Prentice's release allowed Carolina to sign offensive tackle Ryan Hayes off waivers.
