New England Patriots draft Caleb Lomu to strengthen offensive line

Summary

The New England Patriots selected Caleb Lomu with the 28th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, aiming to address concerns following a challenging Super Bowl LX loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Lomu, a standout left tackle from Utah, was noted for his strong performance in college, allowing only 8 pressures and no sacks in his junior year. Head coach Mike Vrabel indicated that Lomu may play both left and right tackle during his first season, given the presence of Will Campbell at left tackle.
