New England Patriots sign Eric Gregory to practice squad after release

The New England Patriots added defensive tackle Eric Gregory to the practice squad on Monday. This move follows his release from the active roster on Sunday. Gregory participated in all three of the team's preseason games, where he recorded a quarterback hit and three total tackles. The second-year defender saw playing time in both run-defense and passing situations throughout training camp and the preseason. He will now work within the practice squad as he seeks a potential elevation to the active roster during the regular season. Currently, the Patriots' defensive tackle unit includes Milton Williams, Christian Barmore, and Cory Durden.
