Research unveiled at the third annual Power of Women’s Sports Summit in New York City indicates that girls who play sports are more likely to achieve leadership roles as adults. The study, conducted by e.l.f. Beauty and Parity, surveyed more than 9,500 people across the United States, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Findings show that women who played sports for at least three years before finishing secondary school are nearly 50% more likely to hold leadership positions at work compared to those with less or no athletic experience. Participants in the study, including U.S. national team soccer player Jaedyn Shaw, noted that skills such as resilience, communication, and persistent work habits are developed through athletics. The report, presented on Aug. 31, highlights how these formative experiences influence professional development and compensation negotiation later in life.
