New York state's exploratory committee is evaluating a potential bid for Lake Placid and New York City to co-host a future Winter Olympics. Governor Kathy Hochul announced this initiative, highlighting Lake Placid's historical significance as a two-time Winter Games host. The committee will take about a year to assess the viability of such a bid, possibly targeting the 2042 Olympics, given that Salt Lake City will host in 2034.
