New York City hosts USATF Outdoor and Para Championships for first time since 1991

The Toyota USA Track and Field Outdoor and Para National Championships are being held in New York City from July 21-24. This event marks the city's first time hosting national outdoor championships in track and field in 35 years. Icahn Stadium, located on Randall's Island, will see competitions featuring top athletes, following previous national meets that took place at Hayward Field in Oregon. The event coincides with the 150th anniversary of the U.S. Track and Field Championships, which were first held in the Bronx in 1876. USATF CEO Max Siegel emphasized the significance of returning the championships to New York, emphasizing the sport's growth and commitment to excellence and inclusion.
